Megan played the hookey on Friday and we had a girls date at the Arboretum! It was a gorgeous day, perfect for Arbor Day and Free admission... IT WAS PACKED!!!We had a blast! we got to walk through a hedge maze, climb on rocks and ropes, step-stone across the pond, and splash in the stream! We had fun floating her crocs downstream... she freaked out at first, until I 'splained it was a science experiment and told her to wait at the bottom to catch them! She managed to stay pretty dry until she slipped and fell in the stream! No problem though b/c it was so warm out. They do suggest a change of clothes and now I believe it!
She tripped and fell in some mud right after we got there. She handled that really well! We got her cleaned up in the bathroom... didn't know about the stream at the time. She ended up with a scraped knee.
Megan found some little stones in the stream and asaked if she could keep them for her"correction" (collection) I had to put a limit on that and she brought home 5.
A treat to a push-up at the end of the day and a nap in the car while stuck in construction traffic and having the boys picked up from school for us was the perfect end to the date!
We were only there for a few hours and only saw the childrens garden! We will definitely be going back with the boys to see the educational center!
This is going to be a favorite place for us to go in June and Sept... when all the other kids are back to school!!
